Terms of service
Last updated 2026-11-07
These terms are the agreement between [Your company’s legal name, e.g. Example Software LLC] (“we”, “us”) and the business that signs up for SteadyBid (“you”). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you are signing up for a company, you confirm you may bind it to these terms.
What the service is
SteadyBid is software for writing estimates, invoices and change orders, recording payments, keeping client records and reporting on a contracting business. It is provided over the internet as a subscription.
We may improve or change features over time. If we ever remove something you rely on, we will say so in advance where we reasonably can.
Your account
You need an account to use the service. Keep your password private and tell us at once if you think someone else has it. You are responsible for what is done under your account, including by people you invite.
You must be at least 18 and may only use the service for a lawful business purpose.
Plans, trials and billing
New accounts get a free trial. When it ends you choose a plan or the account becomes read-only; your data stays and you can export it at any time.
Plans are billed monthly in advance by card through Stripe, our payment processor. You can change or cancel a plan at any time from Settings; a cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid month and we do not refund partial months. Prices may change with at least 30 days’ notice by email.
If a payment fails we will tell you and give you a grace period to fix it. After that the account becomes read-only until it is paid.
Your data
Everything you enter — your clients, estimates, invoices, payments and notes — belongs to you. We only use it to run the service for you, as described in the privacy policy. You can export all of it from Settings at any time.
You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter and for having the right to store your clients’ details. The service helps you prepare documents; it does not give tax, legal or accounting advice, and the numbers on your invoices are yours to check.
Card payments from your own clients go through your own Stripe account under Stripe’s terms, not ours. We never hold your clients’ money.
Acceptable use
Do not use the service to break the law, to send spam, to store anything you have no right to store, or to interfere with the service or other customers. Do not try to get at another business’s data or to probe the service for weaknesses. We may suspend an account that does.
Availability and backups
We aim to keep the service available at all times, but it may be down for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. We keep daily backups of the service’s database. Still, keep your own exports of anything you could not afford to lose.
Ending the agreement
You can stop at any time by cancelling your plan and asking us to delete your account. We can end the agreement with 30 days’ notice, or at once if you break these terms. After an account is closed we delete its data within 90 days, except what we must keep by law.
Our responsibility
The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, lost data you did not export, or indirect damages, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
Changes and law
We may update these terms. For material changes we will email the account owner at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that is agreement to the new terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, and any dispute will be heard in its courts.
